fell flat on it face
i just hooked my cummins up to a bobcat skidsteer and i don't know if it was just me but going up a hill the truck just acted like it didnt want it there at all ill be honest i was kinda dissapointed my truck is more or less stock i havent touched the full fuel screw just the starwheel and the smoke screw but will this thing be kinda of doggy unless i turn that screw or am i just expecting to much ps trailer was about 1500pound and the bobcat was maybe around 4500pounds its the 727 trans just for the record
727's arent exactly known for their efficiency. unless you have an upgraded torque converter what the engine is doing wont be put to the wheels in an efficient manner. star wheel and smoke screw wont really add to the overall power, just when the power is applied
you were way overloaded for the truck and eng mods it will pull it but dont get a heavy right foot. tranny is everything i just pulled 10 thou. pounds with my 91.5, trust me i was not at highway speed but pulling a 6 yard dump trailer with 800lbs in the bed was way to much, I ran about 1300 egt's at 40 mph. I just took it slow.I should have drove the 2001 3500 but i love the first gen.
so when i get to gauges and turn that full fuel screw up will that help on power im not looking to pull the world around or go real fast i just want the confidence that when i need to my truck has my back ps anyone have a old pyro lieing around
stock trucks dont pull great if you had a good tight trans and converter you would notice night and day if you want the best pulling truck leave it most 99% stock and get a good trans rebuild and converter
about the gov spring when i bought this truck the pump looked new the gasket look as if it just came off the counter but my truck is the 727 trans and i can let it go at 65 pretty easy and the engine doesnt seem to be screaming i was curious is there any way i can tell about a gov spring with out taking it off i just dont want to spend the money if its already there
