Ok so I was talkin to this guy today and he said that a very good diesel tech told him it was ok to run without his afc spring. And he said everything was stock. We argued for 20 mins about this. I kept telling him it's gonna lag the hell out of his turbo. Now who's right?

 

Taking the afc spring out does incourage fuel faster so there for can result in lag. However on a completely stock first gen, it cant be any worse than normal. Just my $.02

 

But it's still not good for it though right?

 

Its not necessarily gonna hurt it...

 

if he gives it more fuel then the faster it will spool if he gives it to much then it will lag

taking the AFC spring out wont hurt a thing it would help a stock truck if anything
