Default ve motor and t400

i know a guy with a old chevy 3500 that has a 12v ve pump motor in it and its mated to a t400, what do you guys think the motor and tranny would be worth? its a 2wd, idk on the miles

Do you mean a th400, chevy automatic??? I would say if the engine and trans are both stock, in good working condition, with less than 200k miles, I wouldn't pay any more than $1500. Less if it's a non I/C engine. obiously adjust the price for any mods/upgrades or problems it my have. If you keep the engine stock (which is around 160hp) and the trans is built right, I think the trans will hold up, any mods to motor and that trans will have to be BUILT, or think about a different trans. those chevy automatics can't handle too much torque without putting a lot of money into them
