thinking i have an electrical draw some where
i have a brand new battery i the truck and it works fine if i run the truck everyday for more than 15 minutes, but if i dont start the truck, the battery dies and i cant get it started. i think i have a small draw some where but do not know where to look.

make sure everything electrical is off, disconnect a battery lead, connect a test light in between the battery post and the disconnected lead. If it lights up, you have a draw. First place I would look is underhood light, and glovebox light. If they are ok, pull 1 fuse at a time till the test light goes out. Now you know what circuit it is on.

A test light will light up regardless if there is a parisitic drain or not. Sustitute the test light for a multimeter, and measure the amperage. Rule of thumb is 30mA (Milliamps) is max. My '01 has 10mA with just the truck and radio hooked up. More with a brake controller (adds 10mA), and Viper command start (adds 32mA).
