it says theres a inline 8 in these, not a 6bt

If there 100% original how would they have a 6bt, when the 6bt was originally produced in 1984 by Case IH? Cummins didn't even expand globally until the 50's.

I believe a 1939 Mercedes would have a 6 volt battery. I wonder how that does starting a cummins in the cold weather.

 

Not all original nor did i ever state they were at all. The bodies and frames mostly original we got these all without motors or transmissions. In the back of the radio car came some of the factory mercedes transmissions for these but we were unable to use them. The rear axles in these were from Am General duece and a halfs then machined to fit the narrower frame on these. From Mercedes when these were made they came with straight 8, 5.3 or 5.0L engines. Impossible to find. We retrofited with 6bt cummins engines.

We had to have these out our door in one month Running driving and stopping. It was all pretty much custom fabrication work. The motor mounts, brake systems, steering, Guages, The blue convertable was 90% when we hit budget limit. 4 grand was spend on the guage work alone for the blue one. The other two were about 60% green radio car is sposed to have a cloth roof its still just wooden crossmembers. The main focus was the convertable it was appraised at i think around 5 million.

I am posting this cause it was something very few people have ever seen and i was lucky enough to be involved in the build up. I have never personally seen the documents to prove that any of these were hitlers or even the full history is on them I am only saying what the owner of them told our shop.

 

Ah I see. I read the words "restoration department" and assumed they restored vehicles.

 

Ok seriously why must you try to twist this? Is it not possible to do a restoration on a vechicle without the original motor.
