Default Are you guys adding

Cetane or any other additive to your diesel?
Is there any downside to using cetane boost? The only thing I read is that it might damage your oxidation catalyst on 2006 and older, but since I dont have a cat I think I would be fine. Is there much benefit?

Thanks

do you run the oil through a filter before you put it in or just run it straight?

shoot man this old junk wagon eats everything I have been feeding it oil like that since I owned it so 4 years

its got 400HP and loves every oily drop!

back in the day cummins powered semis had a pump that pulled oil directly out of the pan and filtered it through an external oil filter and dumped it in the fuel tanks you did this for an oil change dump 10 gals back in and change the filters and bam your good for another 15K and you dont even have to brake out a wrench

but it goes through a filter and its clean oil to begin with. how are your airdog filters? have you checked them? i just like to give it that little extra filtering.

run 130 gal of fuel to one oil change 3640 miles I have a 100 gal transfer tank in the bed so I have a VERY clean bucket just for cummins oil I dump the 3.2 gallons (2qt oil cooler) and dump that dight in the 100 gal tank it will turn the fuel dark gray but thats no issue the pump dont care if its hot pink

as far as the "dirt" in the oil when you change your oil as often as I do theres not alot of ware on things shoot I run delo 15w-40 in semis for 15K

the airdog filters are fine I change them every 2 fill ups (260 gal) I have gut them open and inspected nothing out of the ordenary to be honest I get almost 1/2 cup of water out of 260 gallons (i am guessing its condensation of a 1/2 full tank) I am more worried about water passing than "dirt" from my used unfiltered oil

proof enough for me i guess so do you even have regular tank(s) on your truck or just run straight out of the transfer tank only? i may soon enough have a 9.5 foot bed(see sig project ccelb) so i might look into one
