Default installed new boost gauge and... is this normal?

Alright I posted thison another forum but came here to get more opinions from the helpful folks here.
Ok so I installed my new 100 psi autometer boost gauge today, more than I need but was cheaper than 60 psi. Besides everyone says they max out the 3 psi gauges. Road tested it and no needle movement 1st and 2nd. Moderate accelleration 3rd and 4th 7-10 psi.
but when my rpm's level off then the needle drops. Is this normal?
Checked for hoses in the hump hose. stock turbo, stock intercooler and tubes.

When I put a 30 psi boost gauge in my dads' truck, he only got to 12 psi. This was the highest that he saw, and that was towing about 10k. He normally saw about 6 psi of boost most of the time. So a 100 psi gauge may be a little too much.

Yep when you get to your desired speed the trucks not working as hard anymore so it will drop. Being that its a 100psi gauge the lower boost levels it will barely move as you noticed.

yep as said thats normal the more your in the throttle the more boost you make (to a point)

1st and 2nd seeing little boost is normal if you have a 5 speed and 4.10's thats REALLY normal

when in 5th gear at 70MPH i see 10PSI but when I floor it to pass a Ford or Chevy I can see up to 50PSI then back to 10PSI once I level out at 70MPH

glad to know thats normal and not to worry. Guess I should have go the 35 psi gauge and just pegged it out when I accelerate. live and learn. So other than a different turbo, would a PS or 2nd gen intercooler make a difference. Can't afford to do much, gauges were a splurge. Hope for 4" exhaust next. But got to feed the kidos first.
