Default Truck quit White smoke

Help from anyone with and idea.
Was pulling a camper (what I do for a living) and my 92 D350 lost power and started white smoking.
Got pulled into a parking lot and couldn't get it started without a gas soaked rag.
Towed it to a friends and have had no luck getting it going.
The pump was resealed about 8mo or 70,000 miles ago. Put a new lift pump and fuel filter on.
Bypassed the filter/ heater system. Have a hose in a gas can to the lift pump and a hose from the lift pump to the injector pump.
You try to start it it smokes white smoke but doesn't hit at all.
I'm at a loss any help is greatly appreciated

It sounds to me like the timing on the injection pump is off, if it slipped and went too far advanced or retarded it will smoke white and buck and fart, or not run at all. Hope that helps

White smoke is vapor, caused by unburnt fuel or water getting in the cylinders. Unburnt fuel could be caused by lots of things, timing being one of them as 97CumminsDiesel said. Seems a little strange but worth a look for sure. Start with the easiest things first, so check for water in your fuel. Either drop the filter all together, or drain a bunch out of the bottom if you have the tap on there. Make sure you drain it in to a glass or other see-through vessel so you can see what came out of filter.
Check the coolant level too. It's also possible that if you had WIF, and that water made it to the injectors the injectors have now split. I hope not but it's possible. Hope this helps.

Make sure the turbo isn't locked up! I had a turbo on a M11 lock up an all it would do Is throw out the white smoke.

Update.
Turns out it was the injector pump $1449.50 exchange.
Put it on and turned over once and she fired right up and ran great.
The shops say about 400,000 miles they need rebuilt so I guess I'll get another 4yrs out of this one.

I don't know where you got your IP from, but that seems a bit high to me. Too late now I guess, but IIRC, PDR had slightly tuned ones for $1249 or $1299. And rebuilt every 400k? Nah, depends on the pump and what you do with it. Mine needed a rebuild after 150k.

Glad you got it going again though!

For the record, our VE injection pumps don't do that like some of the newer truck's IPs.
