Default tranny question
the tranny in my 93 the reverse is going out in it and i found a guy selling a tranny out of a 91 they should be the same exact one right??

yeah same trany look at yours it will getrag on the side cast in model number is 360

If its a getrag its the same. If its an auto than the 91 will work only if its a 518 (4sp overdrive) the 727 is 3 sp and needs 3.07 gear to run down the road.

both trucks are auto is there any way to tell from the 727 and the 518??

if the truck has over drive it is a 518

I'm just gonna throw this out there make sure ur looking at a diesel tranny and not a gasser

did the 518 come on gas engines to and will they work on the 12v if so??

gas trans won't work. Why not just rebuild yours if your not going to go with a manual trans.
