intercooler swap

Default intercooler swap

i have a 92 w350 and am wondering if anyone has tryed to use an intercooler from like an 03 to 07 dodge will it fit? i can pick one up from a buddy for 300 bucks i know it would be a nice upgrade if i can make it fit

Not real sure on that one, I have seen people that take an 01 intercooler and make it work.

ya i put a 2nd gen cooler in my truck. worth the effort.

it would probly be alot easier for you than it was for me cuz my truck was a non ic. since urs is already a ic truck then you shouldnt have to go and cut up as much stuff. heres my write up that i did on it.

i think the first gen coolers are smaller and since they are smaller restrict more air and wont cool as well as the 2nd gen coolers do because they are bigger.
also you can use any of the intercoolers from the 2nd gens. not just the 01 year. i think the powerstroke coolers have something to do with that year and/or the years around it cuz they are the best ones to use from strokers.

Thanks Rusty. I'll keep that in mind. Bigger cooler equals more air into the exhaust. A new item tohunt for.
