Hydroboost P/S Pump Swap
Hey there. Need to pick your brians a bit. I got a 91.5 i/c with power steering pump and vacuum pump. I want to get rid of vacuum booster and install hydro boost. Does the later model Power steering pump for hydroboost bolt right in place of my old p/s pump? has anyone done this swap? Thanks

yep its a cake walk I used the while braking system off an 01 everything bolts on except the booster unit you need to drill the hole in the rod that connects to the pedal assy.
out to 1in and make an spacer plate 3/4in then drill 2 new holes in the firewall
not sure about the pump to ps box tho I used all 2nd gen steering stuff but any hydraulics shop can make you the fittings

the ability to stop would probably be my biggest gain from it.
My vacuum pump is getting weak and you could only hit the brakes once or twice in a short period of time before you would start to loose vacuum assist.
The chevy booster dropped right into the factory holes. I did have to flip the bracket around to offset the booster lower and open up the center hole in the firewall some. The chevy rod was too long and the wrong size hole, so I just cut it off and welded the dodge end to it. The lines took some effort since the chevy uses a larger line for the rear and the nuts were different. I forget what I did exactly, but it seems to be working

Hey thanks. I'll keep ya in mind. I want to buy a lot of stuff new (pump booster and lines) if I can. I'm doing a full conversion and resto on my 72 chevy so I want to try to make everything new and clean. But i;m sure i'll be running out of money really soon. ha ha. i'm from Sebastopol, Sonoma County. So you own a performance shop huh?? do you do head work?

do ya do it in house or send out? I'm not that worried about the price, I want someone who knows what they're doing and does a good job. I don't wanna take it to some crummy head shop, have it done cheap, then have a bunch of problems. I want it done right the first time. but Yea p&p. Also 60# springs and probably o-ring. I don't know anything about the o-ringing but I hear everyone doing it, I'm assuming it's a good thing to do. What exactly is getting o-ringed?? I work on big rigs, so the only performance stuff I do is turning up pumps. I'm new to all these mods for b-series.
