Well i screwed up last night and let my cousin borrow my ole goat and he completely killed the synchros in 2nd i think, it doesn't like that gear at all. if i come to a complete stop, and try to swing into second, it grinds down slowly then pops in, and if i shift with out the clutch, i cant get second to catch worth a darn, I'm not a master transmission tech, but i have torn them apart replacing forks (in a 1996 gmc 1500) and seals (in a 1991 ford f-250 zf-5). and i do all of my own repairs. so can someone point me in the right direction?

Wow i guess I have good friends and family. None of them want to be a passenger in my truck much less drive it. Although my driving could be a part of that.

Well it was stock, never been touched and has 186,000 miles on it, so its was due just a wait and see when it can't handle it game. so its not completly his fault and I'm not blaming him, he knew how to drive, its just he may have slammed it once pretty hard and toasted it, I just need to know what anyone else thinks this may be??

this post is going to be generally useless to you but right before you take it out get yourself up to a good speed slam it in second(or first) with him in the car and show him.

If that is what the problem is, your going to have to guy your transmission. The shafts have to come out and be disassembled in order to change a syncro.
