Mine the oil pressure gauge would drop all the way down when i woudl accelerate but come back up when driving steady. It was a bad sending unit and eventually just stopped working all together.

Sounds like the idle speed is too low.

Take the truck to the shop and have them adjust the idle back up.

Otherwise you can do it yourself.
There's a threaded screw, with a screwdriver slot on it, which is on the backside of the pump, towards the head.
This screw is held in place with a 10mm locknut, but sometimes you can't get a wrench to work on it and you have to pop the nut loose with a small chisel, then adjust the idle screw up.

It can be a bear to get at, so have patience.

Mark.
