Default Tranny Issue

Hey everyone, i recently bought myself a 1st gen but found when traveling on the highway at a faster speed once i accelerate so much it wants to shift down even when im not pulling. Need some advice on the fix.

Another thing is the speedometer is way off. i noticed it is electrical and i do have 35s on it. Does the adapter need relpaced or is it the gauges?

is it doing it even when your not on the fuel? maybe your kick down cable needs to be adjusted.

More than likely the shift down cable.

Speedo needs to be changed in the PCM via a programmer or dealership programmer.

its your spedo. you can buy the adapter from BBD($100). the dealership can NOT program tire sizes in our trucks like they can with newer vehicles.

The down shifting problem is probably the throttle position sensorer because my 92 done the same thing but I dont know about the speedo.

Mine was going the same thing around freeway speed if you gave it, it would pop out of OD. When i got my spedo working that went away. Id try the spedo first since its $100. a new TPS is $300 unless you buy the potentiometer kit its $30.
