Timing?

Try adding 12v to the KSB and see if the problem goes away. If so you timing is retarded.

If your timing is retarded the KSB will advance it until the engine gets warm. So in theory it could be advancing it enough to make it run OK then retarding it enough when it warms up to run bad. A long shot but worth a shot.

One thing not to do to a cold engine is run it " like a bat outa hell ". Real hard on these babys to run them like that cold. Rswords has a good point but also may be fuel related, like not getting enough. The turbo will not spool if your not getting enough fuel. Fuel is heat, heat spins the turbo. Could be tons of things. You should think of some gauges to help diagnos problems. Fuel pressure for keeping an eye for fuel related problems, boost gauge to check that, Exhaust gas temp gauge so you don't fry the engine down. The boost and pryo work well as a team in diagnosing problems.

Your KSB wont be bad, this is just a way to trick the pump into more timing.

Do a search for KSB on here and add constant jey on 12v to it. A jumper wire from the shutdown solenoid to the KSB works best. I would toss a pic up but I'm on my phone.

In most cases, there is no such thing as to much fuel. ( not all ). spitting can result from a fuel starvation issue like bad lift pump, plugged fuel filter ect. Start with a fresh fuel filter.
