What would taking off the nylon washer on the fuel pin or shaving down do for the truck? would it just smoke more? add a little more horse? would it be bad on the truck?

Thinking about shaving it down some, just wondering what it would do before i mess with it??

 

Put some heavy grease (thing bearing grease) on the pin, just a light coat will do, run the truck for around the block getting it up to full boost. Look at the track left by the rack in your grease keep shaving the washer until the rack gets to the deepest part of the pin.

so would it just be easyer to take it off or do i have to go through those steps so i dont mess anything up? (if possible)? im guessing from what you said that at half to full throttle is when it would see the gains? does yours smoke more with out it?

 

You wont mess anything up, you do run the chance of the pin traveling to far and the rack coming up the other side of the profile taking fuel away. The grease will make sure you get the most possible.

yep.. you probably can see a mark on your fuel cone now... my stock cone had a little wear on it to the point i could see the travel it had.

compare the distance between the end of the wear-mark to the deepest part of the cone. if that distance is the same or more than the thickness of the washer, take out the washer completely.

 

oh ok! alot of power increase?

 

it might be some difference in smoke... power will depend if youre taking advantage of the fuel with proper air and injection timing.

make sure you see where the deepest side of the cone is when you reinstall it (pointing to the front of the truck) so youre getting all of the fuel you can.

 

oh ok, well i dont smoke much now. so hopefuly it will suply a bit more power and smoke!!!

oh and you mean deepest being the bottom of the fuel pin right?

 

deepest part... the area where the fuel cone is the thinnest is where youre looking.
