Default Help with bench seat on reg. cab please!

Hi everyone, just wanted to say this is a great forum! I love that its broken up by generations as well as makes. Brilliant!

I have recently become the proud owner of an amazingly well kept D250 LE. It is a reg. cab with the O/D tranny and 4x4. Ive heard grumblings about that tranny, it being the weakest link and all, but its perfect for me. We're talking the weakest link in a 50,000lb chain! But we'll address driveline another time.

My reason for posting right now is probably silly, but i have been having a hard time figureing out how to tilt the bench seat forward. I did it one time (by accident?) and now i cant seem to replicate it. Ive tried to feel for hidden catches, levers, or sheer force, and i am getting nowhere. Is there a trick?

mine was all crusty at first, had to give it some BFH lovin, and it's perfect now Both sides were not working together for me. I've also heard seatcovers jam up and don't allow it to move forward.

Mine i just grab and pull forward. it has a lever under my left leg that moves the bench forward and back.

Yeah i found that lever, its how i get behind the seat right now. It definitely feels like its hitting something pretty solidly, more so than a catch. I guess i'll just keep wrenching on it until i decide to take it out..sigh

on my 92 there is a plastic trim cover that hides the latch ,it covers the seat frame where the back attaches to the bottom. just reach under the bottom of the cover and pull the latch rearward. it may take abit of searching. hope this helps
