Default Give me a hand with this.........

So driving down the road at 70 MPH 2500 RPM my stock gauges and radio start to flicker and freak out and bam dead no power got to where I needed to go and it would not **** off unless I push the E-Brake and would not start after that (with the key) no headlights blinkers or brake lights all after market works and radio works only with key on accessory

any Ideas?

I am off to go out to shop to rip this pig a part I will check back often on my phone

Starting at the key switch and working out from there

this is on my 1990 2wd 5 speed

thanks

Brice

They say that 90% of all eletrical problems are ground related. The other 10% are just a complete PITA!!! In your case Brice, I'm hoping it's going to be the ground on your battery. This happened to me 3 or 4 years ago, before I knew anything about engines/electrical etc etc. Went out one day to fire her up, nuthin. Called a fella to come out and take a look, just needed a new ground connection.

I ran into this on a customers truck a few years ago. On the front side of the fire wall in the engine compartment there are some electrical solenoids and relays. I went though everything trying to get his gauges working again. I pushed on the two black relays on the fire wall one of them clicked it had vibrated lose and the gauges worked fine.

Not sure if this is the problem on your truck but might be worth a shot at this point!
