ok guys i have a 91 cummins and i dont know what happend ok i was hauling some cows to the ranch and all my stuff worked fine butt once i turned it off it was hard to turn the key to the start position kindof like it was a different key in the slot butt finaly after fidgiting with it for a while i got it to turn and start. butt when it started i noticed that my air conditioner and power windows didnt work, i checked the fuses and they were fine, so i called my friend and he said that the same thing had happend to his truck and he fixed it by wiring a switch to something on his fuse panel butt he couldnt exactly remember what he did soo im asking yall what do i do to fix this ive tried everything i know with no luck thanks for any help

Sounds like the ignition switch itself may have finally gone bad. Not really unusual after 19 years...

You'll have to chamge the internal part of the switch also. You could try and clean up the contacts if they're still all in place and not broken rather than change it out. It's either that or start wiring up seperate power switches for everything that doesn't work!
Good Luck

Hey wanted to ask how your problem is working out. I've got the same problem yet I'm hell bent and determined why the wires are still getting hot.
