Hows your fuel mileage? I have a '93 with the A518 as well with 5:13 gearing... my fuel mileage
is crap. I was thinking of going 3:73 or 3:92. What would you suggest. I'm running 40" iroks
Thanks

A few engine mods and the sluggishness of those 39.5's will be minimized enough not to need the higher gear ratio's you currently have - at least that has been my personal findings. It sort of all depends on what you do with your rig. I have a set of 42's TSL's I throw in just for kicks and giggles occasionally, but since I also pull a CAT 416C Backhoe which weighs about 13,000 lbs. I use 38's for the most part. I get about 15 mpg in town without a load .. and about 9-11 with the tractor/trailer. Which is not bad ... my 94 v8 5.9L pictured here with 39" iroks gets 7-8 with no load
