If you are looking to make it a simple swap a 12 valve with a p7100 inline pump will make the numbers you are looking for. The blocks are all strong and will hold up to the power. If its going to be towing a lot than 500hp will make it hard to do. There aren't many downfalls going from an idi to a cummins. Someone else will chime in to with more info, thats all i can think of right now.

x2. The 1st gen engines are capable of making 650+ on #2 only, but it's going to take a LOT of time and money to get there. And, it won't be a reliable daily-driving type of engine. But, the 94 - 98, (I think ) engines with the P7100, (P-pump) will make 500+ relatively easily, and will be fairly streetable. The block is exactly the same, AFAIK, but the IC, turbo, drivetrain/tranny IP and injectors are all different. And I believe they have some kind of computer too.
