what intake are you talking about? the horn coming off the manifold? The filter and tube to the turbo?

Well I guess both maybe but I was referring to the filter and tube to the turbo. Does changing either help with cooler egt's, help with performance and milage?

BHAF and a home made mount all the way, cheap and easy.

Read through this thread, BHAF part numbers and the template for the mount are in it.

i used a peice of 4" exhaust elbow to clear the alternatore then just put the biggest filter i could. for the air horn found a free 2nd gen piece with a few silicone parts fits like a glove. as far as milage improvments ? hard to tell with your foot finding the floor constantly

I used a piece of 5" I had laying around from my exhaust system.
By cutting off about 7" or so of the stock bellows intake at the turbo end I was able to connect to the turbo, slide the cutoff portion into the 5" - VERY tight fit - and on the other end, again, cut off about 7" of the stock bellows at the filter end and force it into the 5" then slip a piece 2" long cut off a 4" PVC pipe connector and slide that into the AmsOil 4510 dry filter.
All parts fit nice and tight. In fact I have to completely disassemble the heat shield to clean the filter - but I only do that every 6 mos or so.

I also made up an intake shield that fits the front fender curve and the top slides up under the lip on the top of the fender PLUS there's a back to close it all off. I've got a pyro tip under there and the temps stay about 15* above outside temps. When I get a chance I'm going to get some stick-on insulation and cover the whole inside to try to drop the temps some more.

I like the IceBox filters. My bro just put one on his pickup and it works great. Still keeps out alot of the heat but flows GREAT!
