Default Bed corner repair?

The corners of my bed are torn up as im sure alot of others have been too. I did re-weld the crack, and in a year they have torn again. Anyone know of a permanent fix for this? I am thinkin about re-welding it again then throwing a bed rail on that will cover the cab side rail, and about 1ft. down the side rail. Would that work if i welded it to the inside rail of the bed? it has me kinda stumped

anyone?

Well anything that will add support to it will help. Have you checked to see if your bed bolts are tight. I've also ran into this problem on most of my trucks. But drilling the end of the crack and welding it up has worked for me with no more cracking.
My biggest problem though is the back of the cab cracking. That is a PIA to fix. You gotta take the bed off, and thats never any fun even with a lift!
Good Luck.

Yhea I understand where it's cracking, I was just saying to check the back of the cab also. I think your Idea of making the bed with more support would work and work well. The point is that the bed is flexing out or in and is finding it's weak point and cracking. If you were to tie it all together then it will help with the cracking. Next thought would be to make a head ach rack and bed rails all the way back to the tail gate. Then tie all of that together.
Also make sure everything is tight, if it's flopping around and flexing that would make it crack quicker.

ya the only movement i get is from the backside of the bed. it had been pushed back to the cab before i bought the truck wich originally caused the problem. after makin it straight, and the welds not working, i guess what im afraid of is for the bed rails to crack around the rail cap i plan on making for it because i dont want to run them all the way back.

Well next thing you may want to start checking around for another bed. If it's been pushed around it may be a diamond now and with the frame moving it may never be right? Either that or build your self a flatbed like all of us cool guys! (One of my trucks has a flatbed, the others are still boxes)
