Default radiator

Has anyone put an intercooled radiator in a non i/c truck. I know the top hose is on the opposite side and thats no big deal. What im worried about is the distance between the fan and the radiator. Tonight i was doin some measuring and found out that a i/c cummins engine is back an inch farther than a non i/c engine.
Im puttin a powerstroke i/c in my 89 dodge and the stock radiator is too wide

the intercooled radiator is a little bit thicker than a non intercooled radiator. i had to go to a non intercooled radiator when i put in my electric fan for the extra clearance. but i have another solution for ya.

take a cut off wheel to the mounting tabs of the non intercooled radiator and make some customer mounts that mount like an intercooled radiator does. my non intercooled radiator wouldnt fit between my intercooler tubes, so i cut off the side mounting brackets. its just skinny enough that way. it wont leak if your careful, and itll save you from buyin another radiator

I got about 1/2" between my ic rad and fan. If I ovalled the holes in the top brackets,or drilled new ones, I could angle it forward probably another 1/2". I just check my fan for wiggle whenever I check the oils. I also have an ic rad support and thermostat housing, but you could make the rad fit a n/ic support without too much trouble I would think.

Won't fit? The N/IC rad support must be dished in more than the I/C rad support? I didn't measure that when I did my swap.

All I know is all the radiators I ordered from Autocrap, Advanced, O'reilleys, Napa, were all the intercooled, I called Spectra Radiators, one of the largest suppiers, and they told me they've been on backorder, The 2 row were 5/8" and the 3-4 row were 1". I will say i'm happy with the recore, Goldie runs wayy cooler, and be sure and get a Cummins T-stat, don't waist your time on an aftermarket one None of those parts stores didn't even show a LEFTY sided (pass. side) inlet on the radiator PAIN IN THE ***!!

A million aftermarket aluminum radiators on the world and there isn't one that drops in place?
