Sad OK so my truck is freakin out man

I just ordered a new battery cable from Dodge cuz mine the end on mine is messed up. So I just got back from the trip to the Dodge dealer and I've been having to play with the positive cable all day to get the truck started, so curiously I shut it down and tried to start it back up. No it won't even click or make any attempt to start. All the electrical stuff works, the radio plays and doesnt stop like normal when the key is in the start position. I think it might be my ignition switch just decided to **** out all the sudden. Like I said, everything works but the starter, no solenoid clicking, no load placed on the system at all when I try to start it. Im gonna pray that when it cools off it fires up but do u guys have any suggestions.

take a set of jumper cables and run them from your neg battery terminal to your engine and one to your frame. if everything works good ....that will tell you if you have a bad ground

I jumped the solenoid on the starter and it fired right up. Im thinking its the switch. All the fusible links look good and everything else works.

Its the ignition switch. The truck already had a push button in it that wasnt wired to anything so I rigged it to the starter. I bought the ignition switch but wow, thats gonna be a PITA. Think Im gonna hold off for now and go race car style for a while

I hear ya buddy! Toss 5 or 6 dummy switches in the dash and flip them before you hit the start button... You will look like a big time race car driver then.

If only you have the 93 style column, those ones are so easy it's pathetic.

Sorry, referring to the ignition switch.

haha, I got to lookin at that ignition switch, and Ive got the new one, but I gotta say....F that thing. Its not gonna be fun. Does anyone know how the rod from the lock cylinder connects to the switch? Is it from the top, or the bottom or WTF. Thats the main part that is makin me nervous about takin the bolts out. If I F it up and cant get it back together, the truck won't run no mo. If I leave it alone, the truck runs, just with the racy car push button start

What wrong with the button. My dad has had one for bout 5 years. It's hella long and just kinda loops up over the column and hangs there, real classy setup
