Default Oil pan ?

ok guys ive got the transmission out and i might as well do the oil pan gasket while im there. Can anyone think of a good place to put a jack thats outta the way to support the engine? i can see anything and i dont have an engine jack.

will i be able to slide the oil pan out withought running into clearence issues? i know i can get to the bolts but i dont know what the clearence is on the inside?

Also, washer included with the SBC clutch stated to put behind throughout pivit ball with existing washer. i dont see an exisiting washer?

i have the oil pan gasket already. just wonderin if i can slide it out from the crossmember without running into clearence issues from the cam/ etc...

that clutch cam with a washer and the package says, "ADDING THIS WASHER TO EXISTING WASHER BEHIND FORK PIVOT BALL WILL AID IN CLUTCH RELEASE." there is no existing washer that i can see. should i take the pivot ball of anyways and put it on or is that for the second gen trucks?

I can neither confirm nor deny, but I've heard the pan does not come off without raising the engine off the mounts at least a few inches - pickup's in the way.

yes this is true you sometimes even have to trim the joint on the cross member it is a real bitch unless you can get the adapter plate off

it basically just changes the leverage of the fork. I've got mixed feelings on it though since it seems my stock hydraulics don't like the reduced leverage. I'd probably use it though.

Sounds like a wear part and yours got worn out. Definitely use it.
