whats the general consensus on the weight of fluid to use? will be getting amsoil.

and how many quarts will i need so i can overfill it by 1 qt.?

The G360 is spec'd to hold 3.5, so get 5, put 4.5 in and save a half quart for top-up later in case you need it.

According to the amsoil lookup, you need 5W-30 motor oil and not the syncromech tranny fluid.

syncromesh came out after the getrag was put in our trucks, it is much better for the syncros, i would recommend it

That's because the amsoil lookup is not smart enough to understand the manufacturer's specification written 20 years ago has been superceded by contemprary lubrication technology, as alluded to above.

As an Amsoil rep and site sponsor you should be aware of these issues and be giving appropriate advice to the members here, Heath.

Bad idea. Just use the synchromesh.
