so i went out and looked over my pump after watching these videos. I found out that my pump is retarded 1/4 inch maybe a little less and also that my fuel pin is ground down pretty far.

The truck however still dies if i fully let off the petal

One sign of a worn out injector pump is for it to die at idle after its warm. They will idle fine when cold, but as it warms up the idle will drop. You can either idle up or turn in the fuel screw a little to counteract. Not saying that is the only answer.

I tried to advance the timing but i was only able to get the lines on the pump and the one on the block to line up. Is it normal for when the two are line up for the top of the pump to touch the block? I cannot move it anymore at all.

Yea after i moved it i drove it 100 miles or so hauling a broke ford ranger it ran better but still feels like somethings not right. I have not done much to this truck myself besides put in a shift kit and move the pump yesterday. The guy who owned it b4 me put twin turbos on it ground the fuel pin removed the afc. put a intake horn from a 94 and removed the grid heater.

maybe he already had the timing advanced because if i am thinking correctly [and maybe not] cant you advance the timing with the front cover off with the fuel pump staying in the original position and then with it back together figure out its to far and retard the pump with out pulling the front cover again but when you ran it today or whenever did it get hot
