that sounds like its going to be a nightmare. those are 2 complete different trucks. i doubt switches will work or any of that or anything will even line up for that matter. not to mention a dakota isnt as wide, so seats carpet dash etc are all going to be narrower than a full size truck would

Are you just swapping seats or the WHOLE interior?

im planning on swapping as much as i can & my buddys got an 02 cummins he meaS
sured the seat widths in his & measured the seats in the dakota he claims theyre the same..... the most important thing for me outa doing this is @ have the back bench the future ex wife wont let me keep my truck if i dont get rid of the jump seats..... got a kid on the way so doing all i can 2 keep my truck

Still gonna be a full on custom deal... the WHOLE interior, including the metal that makes teh dash and teh cab dimensions, are different. The seats wont be to crazy hard to swap but a full interior is gonna be impossible with out alot of $$$ in custom fab.

It woudl be easier, and bheaper, to sell teh 1st gen and buy a 2nd gen.

Then you need, a better tranny, bigger axles, better drive shafts, stiffer springs, and a pile of other stuff. If you still want your towing capacity, the 1500 frame will be too weak.

If you want a 2nd gen, sell the 1st gen and buy a 2nd gen.
