Default dodge w350 will not go over 35

I am planning on draining the trans and possibly putting a shift kit in it tmro to see if that will fix it i drove it 100 miles yesterday never had a problem let my lil bro drive it to school today not only did he put gas in my tank but now it does not want to go faster than 35 it pulls real hard to 35 but then just tachs out i checked the trans fluid the level is good it's a little dirty so i hope new fluid a shift kit and a new trans filter will fix the problem

im not a tranny expert but it sounds like you have more of a problem than fluid going on. if you had a fluid problem it wouldnt move to begin with hardly at all. sounds like you jacked something up in your tranny

when i pulled my pan on my last auto that i had before the stick, i had a ton of metal shavings in it but i was told it was normal with these trannys, i have no idea if its true or not. but if it wont shift out of 2nd gear that doesnt sound like somethign really bad with the trans. have you checked your throttle positioning sensor and vss and engine speed sensor? they all have to do with the tranny shifting

ya there is its on the back of the drivers side engine compartment. something could still be going wrong though without throwing a code. but i dont know enough about the autos to completely diagnose it unfortunately

Yea well even if it could throw a code i doubt it would the wiring on this thing is really messed up only dash light that works is the low fuel it does not show when 4wd is in or the water in fuel or wait to start hell it's a lucky day when the radio works i have no brake lights turn signals or flasher but the horn works haha i bought this as a project just never thought to what extent but I will get it all done eventually just waiting on a job

why wouldnt you suspect the gasoline?i dont get it.this is the first and most prominent problem.dont you think it could be seizing something?Thats kinda like blamming the pimp when a hooker gives you aids.
