what should my top speed be in my 91 five speed with stock tires an 4.10's? my spedo is broke but my gps says 72 mph. is that a normal top speed? what are you guys getting? i knew getting this truck that it wasnt a top speed truck but in case i take it to the autobahn anytime soon

 

72 is a little low for a stock truck. I would guess your not getting full travel of the throttle linkage. Shut off the truck, have someone hold the pedal to the floor while you look to make sure the throttle lever on the injection pump is hitting the high idle screw. With a stock rig like yours 75 to 78 is about it. My 93, 4.10 with a rag will do over 70 in fourth now that I turned up the high idle adjustment.

 

Quick calcs using 31" tires show 87MPH at 3000 RPM in top gear...
