To the best of my knowlege, there ain't squat offered for the Dana 61 axle. If anybody would have anything, it would be Randy's Ring and Pinion. Randy's Ring & Pinion. The Differential Experts. Auto Parts & Services.

You can run a Lock-rite locker, it installs into a stock carrier. Or get a Detroit locker and run a Mr. Gasket dana 60 ring gear spacer. My off road truck currently has a lock-rite and a ring gear spacer in a dana 61. I needed the spacer to run 4.88 gears. The Lock-rite and the spacer has performed flawlessly for 12 years.

Yes, we are talking front. It was a manual trans truck, and it is in fact a Dana 61 casting with stock 3.54 ratio on the "tall" carrier (if I have that right).

Will a Lock-rite work in my carrier, being that it is the "tall" carrier for the 3.54-4.10 gears? I haven't compared the internals to a normal 60 carrier, but they look a little different... Would I have to run the normal 60 carrier and just use a ring spacer? I plan on putting 4.10 gears in...
The lock-rite doesn't care where the ring gear is. I believe the tall carrier for dana 61 is the same as a 4.56 carrier in a dana 60. You take out the spiders and install the locking kit. It's very easy to put in. It takes longer to remove the axles than install the locker kit
