driveshaft length

Default driveshaft length

if i swap an auto tranny out for a five speed would i need to shorten or lengthen my drive shaft

i am doing the same project. my 5 speed is 26 1/4" long roughly and the automatic is roughly 32" long so therefore you would need to lengthen it roughly 6 inches

would u have to worried about a weak driveshaft or maybe better to find one at a salvage yard or some one parting out a truck thanks for the info

im doin the same project from a 47re to a nv4500, go to a drive shaft shop and have a custom one made and replace all the u joints. itll save you the hassle of havin to do it later.
