can anyone tell me what holset came on the cummins 855 ntc?

it has a band clamp around the cartridge holding the 2 housings together.

I do believe that is an HT3B.

 

think a turbo like that would make a good doubbler??

whats the difference between the vt50 and the ht3b?Ive seen pics of the ht3b and the cartridge looks different.anyways i got this one and its brandnew rebuilt!ill post when i get it.

 

I'm not much a turbo person, but from what I can see is that the vt50 is used on the older models of the NH and NT engines

HT3B is used on 855 MARINE, FORMULA VT-300 , KTA-38 , and the N-14 engines

I tried to see if i can get a breakdown of the components and I come up with nothing on the vt50, we do have a vt50 , when I looked at it, it is allot larger than the ht3b, the vt50 looks closer to a hx80.

the vt50 that we have, the exhaust hooks directly to a 3 inch pipe instead of the original manifold type bolt on flange.

 

sweet.Now i just need a ve for my 4bt that can fuel a set of compounds.Theres a guy in canada who does miracles with the ve pump.His name is Giles.he owns performance diesel.he has some youtube videos up of his test bench.Anyone know the exhaust housing size on this turbo?Im gonna need at least 700cc per1000 to light this turbo.
