Default Ahhh winter.

Since all of us up north have prepped and or are prepping for winter and cold operation I have a question to pose.

Do you run a grill cover when it's really cold? advantages/disadvantages

every now and then I will see a truck running with one, but no first gen cummins powered dodge's to be seen around me.

I completly cover my grill and also take my fan off.................we only use 20% of our cooling system under normal use

I take the grill cover off if I do mountain passes, also if you are going to tow leave the fan on

I have a temp sensor in my intake horn so I can monitor everything well.........also watch coolent temps.......if you run fanless never run yer A/C

what pap said... usually a week TOPS if we get that bad; other than that it just takes forever to heat up... runnin the cover just speeds up warm up; and if you run an intercooler it can help it from icing over and causing an overheat b/c of blocked flow too... that's like whits problems

I cover the radiator here also. Temps in the teens and colder, and on goes the piece of cardboard.

my truck is hit or miss.. I keep losing radiator fluid anyways.. seems i have a randomly leaky hose *shrug* maybe i can fix that this weekend id somewhere has hoses in stock. and I think i'll prep up a grill cover to use if I see the need, supposed to be a colder than normal winter.

I've been running a cover for several weeks now. Temperatures hovering around -10C at night to plus 8C during the day. It helps keep things toasty especially when my truck is empty. Loading up the bed can make even more of a difference than just a winter front.

I'm too lazy to convert to imperial...
