Default intake grid heater question

my 93 the intake heater isnt working correctly it isnt metering out right. i cant find an intake heater for the first gens. my question is are the second and third gens the same intake heater? i dont see how they would differ i believe there all the same size. so if i find one off of a 24v would it work? any input is appreciated. thanks

what part isnt metering out right? bobby has graciously supplied us with a description of operation and a general diagnostic proceedure for the grid system. it says your supposed to have 0 ohm of resistance across the grid from chasis ground to the 12v supply... 0 ohms is great but it also sounds abit low in resistance, to me i figure it'd draw too much amperage and pop the fusible links especially if it end up pre-heating for 20 seconds. that's full amperage being drawn, similar to crossing the battery terminals doesnt really seem to equal out but i guess if it works; it works

were only getting one side of the two terminals to supply power i dont remember exactly what was wrong i just know my electrical guy said it wasnt working correctly and only half of it was working. and the single terminal side where it grounds out is all stripped from the previous owner i cant get it on or off its busted, so i just want to get a new one and start over

if only one side is gettin source voltage then i'd look into either the supply to the relay, a relay or the control circuit for that relay

I don't know about the 3rd gen ones but the 2nd and 1st gens seem to be the same. I'm referencing that from the work I've done on the two 1st and two 2nd gen trucks at my work.
