Default found a 1st gen, is it worth it?

My dad has a buddy that recently has had a 1st gen come into his possession and wants to sell it. It's a '91 250 2wd auto with a cummins. The odo shows just shy of 135000 miles. The guy says that the IP is dead, but at 135k the shutoff solenoid seems more likely to me. The body is freakishly straight with the typical worn out paint. The seat hasn't begun to wear yet and doesn't show any signs of age. We can't test any of the other systems in the truck like the electrical system either because the batteries are missing. He's asking $1200 for the truck as is, reckon its worth it?

sounds like a good deal to me, especially if it only has 135k on it, mines a 94 with 300k

could be alot of things. Could be as simple as the hot wire off the shut down solinoid is missing. If its in good shape I would say snag it.
