Next time your solenoid doesn't want to come out easy get a pair of long-nose vise grips.
Loosened mine right up. Removed it with my fingers after it was loose.

AND put in the new one finger tight then put a wrench on it and NO MORE THAN 1/4 TURN ! !

to revive an old thread, my truck has been doing goofy things the last couple days and the fuel shut of is the only thing i can think of that is doing it.

it is stalling at random times but then fires right back up if i turn the key off then back on again, is this what these things do when they are dieing?

other than the random stalling it is running just like it always does.

and the link at the beginning of this thread isn't working for me can someone repost it?

That sounds like a loose wire. The switched wire to this shut off is a spade terminal. I have had mine act the same as yours. I tightened the spade terminal and have had no more issues. Hope this helps Rocky

Most of these shut offs don't fail electrically they fail by the rubber tip going away
