fuel shut off silenoid
Does any body know where i can get the fuel shut off silenoid for the ve pump i am in need of one, bosch # 0 330 001 040, i put the 3200 spring in and everything was great until i hit the manual cut off and then restarted the truck and then it wouldn't cut off by the key anymore:argh: and i have checked the voltage to it getting 12 volts when the key is on and nothing with it off, anybody know where i can get one other then the dealership?

Or you can get it at NAPA
Be warned though that with a turned up pump and stock I/C'ed injectors its only a matter of time before it gets chewn up again. |
Thanks RS you have been a great help

Well i found a soleniod for the truck can you beleave that the dodge dealership didn't even know what i was talking about and couldn't help me even with the part # napa could have got it next week for me. i ended up driving fifty miles to get it from a pump repair shop in the big city. oh well everything was going well until i went to change it, i bent a wrench just to get to it and low and behold somebody over torqed it and i couldn't get it out had to take the whole top of the pump off and grind down a socket and drive it on there after taking a file to the pump housing and finally broke it loose:argh:. But the truck is back up and running like new, and i found a place to get my parts from. :ok1:

why would they get chewed up?this is up out of the way while running
|
I guess when you shut it down with the pump being turned up its more pressur against the plunger and it wears it out quicker, but i have two more solenoids coming so i will not have to hunt for one next time just put it in.
|
The back rush of all te\he extra fuel from the turned up pump wears it out. Its not really a problem on the non-I/Ced trucks (they have larger stock injectors) just the I/Ced trucks with stock injectors.

fuel shutoff solenoid
I added the 3200 spring and turned up the pump on my 93 IC and went througt 2 fuel solenoid plunger fast! Now have a manual cable shutoff because I don't know where all the rubber goes. I found some of it in the return banjo screen, but have not found the other
2/3s, and I'm afraid to look further. I want bigger injectors anyway.Good Luck with all of your extra solenoids. |
Wow. I just paid like $95 for one. Dammit:hurt:
|
that sound like fun to take off
|
I cut the bracket off with a 4" angle grinder so that I could get at it with a wrench. Worked good, but I would recommend taking the bracket off the truck first, then cutting it. Dangerous to cut so close to the fuel lines. If you cut it, you can take it apart on the side of the road with nothing but a crescent wrench, remove stuck plunger, and be on your way. I got lucky and mine quit working while the truck was parked in the garage. :wow:
Oh, and I was just looking through the smilies. WTF is this? :gayflag: :puke: |
It's the gay support flag!
ha ha ha |
i had the same problem. the first time it lasted a long time before it went out again but this last time it only took one day. crappy deal. oh well 100 horse POD's should be in friday :jump:
|
I work at a dodge dealer and tried getting a solenoid. they have discontinued them, and there are none left in any of the dealerships nationwide. You wouldnt want one anyways because my price was $505.

If any of you guys want just the plungers out of the solenoids for whatever reasons, or the O-rings, I have some that I'll sell for cheap. |
Next time your solenoid doesn't want to come out easy get a pair of long-nose vise grips.
Loosened mine right up. Removed it with my fingers after it was loose. AND put in the new one finger tight then put a wrench on it and NO MORE THAN 1/4 TURN ! ! |
to revive an old thread, my truck has been doing goofy things the last couple days and the fuel shut of is the only thing i can think of that is doing it.
it is stalling at random times but then fires right back up if i turn the key off then back on again, is this what these things do when they are dieing? other than the random stalling it is running just like it always does. and the link at the beginning of this thread isn't working for me can someone repost it? thanks |
That sounds like a loose wire. The switched wire to this shut off is a spade terminal. I have had mine act the same as yours. I tightened the spade terminal and have had no more issues. Hope this helps Rocky
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- Most of these shut offs don't fail electrically they fail by the rubber tip going away |
