would swapping in a getrag be better? I'm going to do it eventually anyway so why not do it now.

Might as well... And dont let anyone get on you about teh NV4500 being a million times better. There are a few things you need to do to keep a getreg alive. Over fill it by a quart, and dont lug it (keep the RPMS up while driving) I like the getregs better then the 4500's.

I dont think its crap but it has a real bad gap between 2nd and 3rd and 5th gear like to fall off if not taken care of.

has anyone tried putting a 700r4 behind a cummins? if so what were the results?

how about a sm465? i'm workin on a tight budget and i'm trying to work with what i have

Again... Pain in the ***... You gonna need adaptor plate (custom), Something with the clutch assembly, driveshafts, ect....

If your on a budget fix what you have.

nevermind any of those ideas. i just found a drw axle out of a 89 cummins w/3.07's for $175
