not shifting right

since i had my tranny rebuilt it has not shifted right from 2nd to 3rd. if i am running it hard it never seems to want to shift. if i let out of the throttle it will shift fine or if i just drive responsible... ha right. also if i let out and coast for more than a few seconds it will down shift out of overdrive. it did that before i had the tranny rebuilt too. i didnt know if there were any adjustment and if there are what are the suppose to be set at.

Try setting your kick-down/TV cable what ever you want to call it. I'll find teh procedure here in a second

Is your kick down linkage set right? It doesn't sound like a linkage problem, but I would check it out anyway. On my truck the kickdown cable is mounted to the throttle bracket, and there is a locking clip that lets you slide the cable to the right position. It was touchy on my truck to get it to shift like I wanted.Factory setting for mine is .225 inch from the back of the slot pin to the back of the slot, but I ended up with .26 to make it shift sooner due to pump mods.Probably a thread somewhere pertaining to your truck.

well i adjusted it and it definately fixed the problem with it not wanting to shift from 2nd to 3rd but it still wants to down shift from overdrive when i let out on the trottle. it doesnt matter how fast i am going, i can be running 90 and it will still do it.
