Default power loss

need help. please tell me it is nothing serious. i was driving my truck today and when i put my foot to the floor it ran great for about 5 seconds then it started to lose power big time. it couldnt even hardly hold 70 mph. it started to do it more often as the night went on. i was thinking maybe water freezing in my filter or the lift pump is going out. it is only 27 so the fuel geling shouldnt be a problem

i think i must have just had some water in my fuel because i ran the tank out, filled it up and put some additive in it. i have gone about 300 miles and no problems so i guess we will see.

Enough water in the fuel to make it run poorly should have turned the water in fuel light on. You may want to get a gauge on there to make sure your lift pump is doing its' thing. When my 93 did this, I ran some cleaner/cetane additive and changed the fuel filter, got better for a little while but then died off again. not too long after that I changed my lift pump, worked good for a little while until my injection pump gave up the ghost.

change your lift pump, it's around $70. and put a pressure gauge in there. an injection pump is around $1,000 and will find the least opportune time to go.
