GDS 60mm Inducer....
they worth it??? they seem to be to pick up the 10mm of size from the factory 50mm, what about an exhaust housing???.....my truck is a 90 so its non-intercooled.....anything i need to know before i buy one for my truck.....my truck is at Diesel Specialists in Orlando getting the pump rebuilt right now along with a few other things (3200 spring and some pump tweaking too).....i might go ahead and get one of these and have him install it.....anything i should think about doing since he is already got the truck......injectors???, its been so long since i actually looked at 1st gen stuff i aint sure what the coolest new toys are.....where is a good place to get the piston lift pump upgrade and does anyone got a part number (i know Begle has one on his truck)........and if im lucky it may just roll out of his shop with an overdrive tranny for free cause he needs my 3 speed for his drag truck and i gave him the go ahead to do the swap if he found a overdrive........i cant wait to get home on vacation and drive it again after it being down 18 months.......
this is what i picked up from GDS.....
The 1988 thru 1991.5 Cummins Diesel/Dodge Ram has a 160 hp engine that is unique to these years because it was not air-to air charge air cooled and so unlike most 1991.5 and later applications it had a 2” hose outlet on the compressor housing as opposed to a v-band outlet on later trucks. This turbo also has a 3” compressor inlet as opposed to the 4” compressor inlet on 91 and later trucks. Note that these upgrades apply to 1991 trucks that were not air to air charge air cooled. If your 1991 truck is air to air charge air cooled, you need to see the 1991.5 to 1993 applicable upgrades, below.
These trucks are equipped stock with a H1C non-wastegated turbo with the standard 70mm dia (60mm exducer) turbine wheel, a 18cm2 turbine housing and a 50mm inducer compressor wheel.
On these applications it is best increase the compressor wheel size and housing for more cfm flow capacity (later trucks all have larger compressors) and to use a smaller cm2 turbine housing area for quicker response and more power.

if he decides to use my tranny i may just have him do that.......along with a valvebody.....
what do you think about water/meth??? probably be a good idea since its not intercooled, i can get the whole system for about 450 w/ 2 gallon tank.....
would POD's be worth it or what injectors should i use, i can get new bosch 300, 330 (maybe) or 370's for around 330 plus shipping from City Diesel.....

i just went to their wesite and i forgot they were located in ohio, i need to call them if Kurt cant get 370's......howmuch of a difference will i see between the 370's and 435's.....
---AutoMerged DoublePost---
i can get 435's for 700 from New Era (im keeping my stock injectors) or have custom ones built for the same price........i think ill just go with the 370's from somewhere else........i aint looking at insane numbers, just a good play toy.....

I liked the 60mm/14cm I had on my last truck and would like to get one for my 93. if you're getting the pump done, thinking about a turbo and injectors and it's already sitting in the shop...seriously consider getting head studs, a new gasket and see if the head needs to be planed.
I got my studs, tweaked pump and just recently some +60hp new era injectors and it's a HUUUUGE difference. Now I need some more air but that little list there took a lot of my money!
water/meth...my brother's running it on his 590hp CR and is happy with it. allows him to really get on it and keep the EGT's down with a more streetable turbo.

I have been told that the big 60mm compressor on the little HX35 shaft is asking for problems but I've also been told that if you just pay attention and don't drive like a tool, the turbo will live a long, successful life. I mean not overspeeding/spooling (wastegates can be good), not cutting the throttle quickly and letting it cool down before shut off.
I only had mine for a year/15k miles, so I can't give an accurate lifespan testimony.

I wouldn't go with a BB turbo Logan. They dont have the long term reliability of jornal bearings because of all the soot in our oils. If your set on one look at the EDGE Turbo on GDS. They are on sale brand new for like $600. They are made by turbonetics. Puddle_pirate on here got one and he seems to like it alot. Its only a 57 wheel but with the advances in wheel design ect it flows like a 60.
Then there is always the S300. A new 62/14 can be had for $1600. Or a used one in good shape for $750 if you look around. I would go this route. For your head gasket a goot re-torque to 120 ft/lbs will be fine for you.
Please dont P-Pump it... Buy a 2nd gen if you want a p-pump.
