I love the simplicity of my first gen. I love the rough ride, and I love the smell of the interior (a mix of diesel fuel, rust, mold, and old truck in general). I love the way she lopes on a cold morning, and the smell of the diesel exhaust lingering in the cold air. I love that its really the only thing I would have spent that much money on, just for a project truck. I love that first gear is a granny gear, and that I just cannot get the hang of driving it like that, haha.
But, the thing I like most about is the shake that it does when I turn it off. |

o lol i thought you said you put a 2008 ss turbo on lol:c:
|
Haha, no no! That turbo is teeny tiny!!
|
cant say ive ever seen one but these 1st gen turbos seem pretty tiny to
|
Well, the first gen turbo is something like a 54mm, I believe, and when i had the BIG turbo (not stock) on the Cobalt, it was a 55mm. I think the stock one is like a 40 something mm. Only flows up to like 38lbs/min.
|
I luv the fact that the guys driving by in their 50,000 dollar trucks are rubber necking at my old 93 and I luv not having that big payment they make every month!

Of course that's the way they designed it - perfectly suited to run well as advertised, right off the assembly line. :w2: |
I love how tough they are and simple to work on
|
I may have just got mine sunday, but i love how i TOUCH the ignition it starts, with no key of course, I love how it has 650,000km on it and still runs like a champ, I love how i pop the hood to my ricer cousin and he said "wheres the wiring? How the f*ck does it run?", I love how the whole truck shakes on shutdown, I love how it looks, I love how its paid for and my dad is still making payments on his cummins, I Love how i can smoke out any lowered ricer i can find :yeah:, I love how it sounds when your shiftin gears, Throttle on!, I Love that fact that the motor is the only thing under the hood, I love how simple the truck is, I will love everyones look when i start driving it to school rollin the coal :101010:, I will love how all the girls will want rides in the "big truck", I love how i can make 100hp for so little money and run faster than a car 1/3 of my trucks weight, I love how it chugs along and bounces and rattles. I think that does it for me.
|
i love the sound, specially when shifting gears at high rpm's close your eyes and you swear its a semi! i didnt like the look when i first bought it..but know i love it! and ya gotta love the fact that u can take the ricers and make them look stupid infront of there gf :tttt: the ride could be softer...but it makes it feel like a real truck. :rocking:

|
ya know there are alot of good things bout our trucks but i do believe the greatest part, is when you look at the tag on the side of the door and read MADE IN U.S.A.!

we have 3 cummins trucks. mine a 93 2wd 250 10ft flatbed, dads 04 3500 edge 6spd 4x4 grandpas 77 250 4x4 cummins, all 93 cept the body and frame minus the hood...77hood wouldnt clear. the ride sucks in the first gens but with enough weight they ride fine haha. they pull anything you hook to em, the smoke from my "custom" 8in stack when i take off loaded from a stop sign, the abilaty to start at 20 below without cranking and cranking, the never ending reliabilaty, the looks everyone gives ya, the sound....everything is great about them..not one bad thing...the best part is the 250mph power windows hahaha:choochoo:
|
i love how anyone can work on it, there isnt much computer bull shit, how day in and day out, it still starts and runs better than other trucks, how it doesnt mind cold weather, how fun they are to work on, oh and finally how hot my girlfriend looks driving it =) :tu:
|
old school cool
1 Attachment(s)
They are easy to work on, There tough, and rugged, {including the ride} AND... THEY JUST LOOK COOL. Especially MINE.:tu:
|
I like how you can keep a spare gallon of coolant and a quart of brake fluid, power steering fluid and trans fluid in the fenderwell next to the battery and still have room to put more spare stuff:jump:
|
just got a 93 3/4ton extended cab for 1500 bucks its got 314000 miles one it sounds awesome and runs like a champ even though the paint is falling off.. but after a few upgrades injectors fuel pin air in take and some 9inch stacks she will be even better..... the best part of th whole thing there dependable and run forever....

What isn't to love? :D
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- So, I've been thinking about this and thought my previous reply ^^^^ needed something else, a little more meat if you will. So here's what I love about my truck. i. It's paid for. ii. It's easy to work on. iii. I don't need a computer or EST in order to diagnose... or to fix. iv. There's loads of space for extra junk in my engine bay!:jump: v. There is nothing like it on the road down here. In other parts of the country there may be a good smattering, but not here. So, it's unique. vi. It's reliable. It's never once let me down. Some things have broken, but not without warning first. vii. It's mine! :tu: |
Its paid for haha
|
1.i love how i paid cash money for it:yeah:
2. i can black out the road when people ride my ass and piss me off. :w2: 3. its built like a tank and i aint scared to ride in it like a car:rocking: 4. most all girls love it... and i get alot of compliments from people :c: 5. i spend all my money on it with the statisfaction that it will never leave me like a girlfriend will.:argh: 6. im more protective over my old 93 than anything else. mess with my truck, il show uyou that the tire thumper under the seat aint just for checking tires:bat: |

1.rough looks
2.easy to work on 3.runs like a tank!! :tttt: |
I have always loved the looks of the IC trucks. But more than anything I love the looks on the guys faces with newer trucks when you pass them or take them for a rip in the ol buckboard. Best quote yet "This thing just fucks right off eh"

Tire thumpers are somewhat of a discourager -
But you should see 'em run when I pull out a solid oak axe handle - 39" of 'ouch' :rocking: |
