My axle wrapping problems as a result of high horsepower levels.

I LOVE the stance of my 1st Gen.
I LOVE the glow off the red dash lights. I LOVE how it roals coal when i lay into it around a corner. I LOVE the way i get offered 10G`s for it ;) The way it growls to life in the morning. AND I LOVE HOW ITS LIKE A DARN TANK :D |
I love the fact that after over 400,000 miles its still the most reliable vehicle i own and gets 22mpg, but the best part is the fact that my dad bought it brand new in 92 and i know its complete history. (both mechanically and how it helped support my family all those years)

I love how I can click the key and it starts right up everytime, it sounds smooth, I can push that pedal to the floor and beat almost everyone that tries to race me, my truck tows incredible, just all around a bad ass good old pick up truck.

Glad my father didn't adopt that philosophy.

I love the way it sounds
I love that it roals coal I love the way it sits I love the old body style truck. |
That it makes 32 different rattles clunks and misc noises and puddles and still somehow never dies. the dang stupid annoying rattle from my 4x4 shifter linkage that i never get around to fixing is surely in my top 5 favorites

It's paid for.

I love the way it sounds
I love the way it sits I love how it has the worlds fastest power windows I love the way everyone thinks its a 70's pickup I love the way it starts right up on the first crank I love how I always get questions about it I love the way it sweats horsepower and marks its territory everywhere I go I love how everyone wants to buy it but thinks I'm crazy because I won't sell it |
Hahaha!! Those power windows are the fastest I have ever seen!

I had a 97 before my 93 and the windows in that were average, so I figured my first gens would be even slower. First time I hit the window switch it was like where'd they go!:humm:

I love the Fact that it was Built by Me not Bought :jump::jump::jump:

I like the 25 MPG on the highway, and the power and toque to pull my 30 fifth wheel up the 6% grade and still get 15 MPG. In 3rd gear. I like how my stock 93 1st gen ran off and left a GMC and a Ford Power Stroke pulling toy haulers up the hill. It needs a paint job, but it runs real well. That is what I like about my 1st Gen Dodge Diesel.
|
I like the fact that my first generation starts up every time I turn the key. I only get 18mpg but doing all I can to get up to 20 or 22 ASP
|
I like the looks of the 1st gen & the simplicity. I don't like or need a lot of electronic controls. I do want to convert to a newer trans with the lockup torque converter. I am trying to get reasonable power without excessive smoke. Smoke is unburned ( translates to WASTED) fuel. Not sure of mileage yet but will find out after I swap instrument clusters so I have an odometer again.

The truck is fun to drive. It's not your average car/truck driving down the road. It's a rare piece of beauty. IT'S A CUMMINS!
|
I love the brute strength I have a drw 92 ext cab 4x4 and it goes through and does every damn thing i put it through the only thing mine needs now is a new paint job
|
What do I love about my 92 12 valve 5 speed dually!? I love that I'm the only 16 year old girl driving one around here. I love the looks I get when I go by guys in there expensive trucks there daddy bought them. I love that I'm in a real truck. The rough ride don't bother be at all in fact I enjoy it. I love shifting gears and hearing the turbo whistle. I love going by bikers and smoking them out so bad I can't see them in the rear view mirror. I just love my damn truck & yes I'm a girl!
|
Love walking into Orilleys and not even having to answer the hundred questions about it, cause everyone there knows 93 w250 5.9, and walking right out in the parking lot with a screwdriver and replacing the part!
I love impressing the shit out of everyone when you beat the power choke by 4 lengths with a trail of rust behind you! Most of all...! I love the squealing of a 16 cm turbo spooling up a whoping 40 lbs of boost and blowing by a dumbass on the freeway, to retaliate by blacking out the street! |
I love the fact that my first gen starts every time with just a bump of the key. Love how it sounds and how it feels to drive, like a real truck, especially with the 5spd. And most of all, I got a clean unmolested one. :yeah:
I also own a 3rd gen and in comparison; has to crank a bit to start, much more comfy ride (except the seats), seems easier to drive (partly due to being an auto), fits the whole family. |
I like the older look on the truck. I also like that almost everything is mechanical, not all the electronic bull shit.

1st Generation is EMP proof
I discovered that even with the "brain box", located in back of the battery, unplugged the truck would still start and run. The gauges don't work and the heater grid don't fire up but that can be hard wired to a switch on the dash. Even so this truck will start in 40 below cold without having to be plugged in with the grid functional. Never attempted to find out how low the temps could go before it wouldn't start without it.
So if we get the dreaded EMP my O3 will have fried electronic everything but I'll still have wheels with the old Teddy Roosevelt - Last of the Rough Riders! I also like the fact that after 6 months of just sitting, it fired up just fine half way through the first crank! I wish I had a place to put the poor ole thing inside where I could do a complete restoration. The only thing that don't work is the tape player. It's the only thing I ever bought in my whole life that actually lived up to it's add hype! |
