Default Hughes Converters??

Is anyone running one in their 1st gen?

I've done all the searching i can and havent heard anything bad about em. Im looking to get one for my 92 W250 4wd. Money is pretty tight for me right now (like alot of folks im sure) and i could throw in a stocker for under $150 or a hughes for just over $300. The truck has some minor pump work and i don't plan on goin crazy with it so im curious if the hughes is really that much better than a stock converter for the extra $150?

The truck will be my DD and also tow rig for my 96 CTD. I really need to get it on the road. It looks so sad just sittin in the back yard.

They're pretty much on the bottom as far as converters for our trucks go. I guess if your expectations are "Just a little better than stock" then its worth the money.

I don't even know anybody with a Hughes.

I'm willing to bet that they stall just as strong as a Goerend's or Suncoast.

I managed to find out that they rate em at only 8% slip! That's not bad at all is it?

Seeing as how the stocker is 40% Slip i would say thats a good deal. When I get my convertor I'm going with the Hughes...
