Should I buy this?
Looks like a pretty nice truck! but the pics honestly kinda suck, and the description is pretty vague. You need to see if u can get some better pics of it and more info. If its super nice, and doesnt look like its been ragged on then 9k would prob be and OK deal. IMO 8K is more like it.
Sorry about all of the posting, but I found yet another one. Its a 92' d250 12 valve. Not sure if I should for sure jump on this one. also, I'm not sure this would be ideal with the 2 wheel drive for getting to places offroad? (Nothing hardcore, for hunting, camping, etc. offroad). Thanks again for the replies!

IN my opinion 3500 to 4k is a really good price. as long as nothing is really wrong with it, and the rockers/cab corner are the only thing with rust then i might even say 4500 to 5k. Thats my opinion, Im sure others will chime in
Ok just cool any major issues I should be aware of on the first gens as far as motor wise I know Kdp is a known prob and obviousness drivetrain wear and tear just not rele to knowledgable on first gen..... only cummins I've had any experience on was my 24v
why do you want a 1st gen? think about the pricing on the parts and condition of the truck. the motor can be sold 2500, the trans 1-2k depends on 4x4 or 4x2. that last truck idk the values of dodges but i can see that one going for 8-9k just because it looks almost brand new. i have my cummins in my 84 gmc. she will crank right up even after sitting for a couple weeks. she only had problems when it stayed in the 20s-neg° for a couple weeks.
. Make sure the engine sounds smooth not rough or has any funny noises. Make sure the getrag shifts good and STAYS IN GEAR! If it pops out of gears it usually means that syncros are out and that usually means your trans needs a new rebuild. Pretty much everything else is like you said looking for obvious wear and tear like any other vehicle. Also since the truck has a little bit of rust on it already, i would pull some carpet up and see if the floor pans are solid, They are known to rust pretty bad on these trucks.
