Default 1st Gen Injectors

Can you put 2nd gen. injectors in a first gen.? Will you need adapters it and would need to pump the supply system with a holley, fass, airdog or something?

You can use 2nd gen injectors. The non-IC engines need adaptors. Put a Piston lift pump from a 2nd gen 12v and you should have enough fuel supply to the little VE pump.

No you cannot use 2nd gen injectors, they have a different spray pattern. They will bolt it, but won't run correctly, also I don't think the fuel lines are the same either. The non-ic'd injectors are 9mm tips versus the IC'd 7mm tips, so you need an adapter to run any after market 1st gen injector in a non-ic'd truck. New era 370s, 435s, DDPs, PoDs... all after markets are 7mm tips.

Here is a PoD injector with the adapter, the adapter is the little brass spacer.

Without the adapter on.

The pop pressure is too high on 2nd gens too. You'll ruin the pump.

They make a lot of the same sizes in first and second gen injectors, its kind of confusing sometimes, especially when people don't specify what they are talking about. Like the marine 370s (second gen) and the New Era 370's (first gen). A lot of people just say 370s
