Default hx40 vs s300

Eventually I want to upgrade my turbo. Both of these choices have been presented to me. My goal is to get close to 500 hp. But I don't want to buy 1 then find out I should have grabbed the other. Can the hx40 be upgraded in the future to have the same performance as the s300? I've tried searching but at this point it seems like a personal preference thing to me. A vetrans insight would be greatly appreciated.

I run an HX40 and am not impressed with the spool up. I do have stock injectors still too. I would recommend the s300 over an hx40.

What do you plan to do with the truck? A work truck and a street rod truck require different set ups.

Somewhere in between the two would be perfect. Its my daily driver but I rarely use it for pulling anything.

Then the s300 would be the better choice. If you where towing and hauling, the HX40 with the right injectors to spool it would be better.
