Default Gov spring

Will swapping to the 3200 gov spring make a big enough difference even though I am still running a stock 3 speed transmission?

What do you mean "big enough"? If you want to rev to ~ 3300, back the high idle screw out.

That will give me higher rpms but I still will need the gov spring to fuel at the rpms? I'm still trying to just figure out all the stuff with the pump. The more I think about it the more confused i get. Lol I'm retarded I'm sorry

Correct.

While you may not wind the engine up to 3200 rpm, you will notice a BIG improvement in throttle response in your, more normal, higher operating rpm. It's the best $20 mod for the VE fueled CTD.

The type of trans won't matter in this regard.

Alright that makes sense. Thanks for the info. I just backed the high idle out and moved the throttle to the inside hole. Huge improvement

I did the full throttle travel adjustment on my 91 and I get 3200RPM.

So you can fuel 3200 rpm without a new gov spring? Just by grinding and modding the throttle linkage?

Well I just relocated the throttle linkage and backed the high idle screw out and I already gained 5 more pounds of boost and have way more giddy up when I punch it.

You don't have to grind anything.
Start by disconnecting the push pull rod from the throttle lever.
Back the high idle (full throttle) screw all the way out. Make sure the lever doesn't come in contact with the fuel supply line. If it does, carefully bend the line up so the lever will go underneath it.
Move the push pull forward rod end into the inner hole on the lever.
Now adjust the link until you get full travel of the lever when you press the throttle peddle.
Your done.
